Factions Interupter Henchman defeats need for interupt spell?
Hey all,
I was just thinking about the implications for the interupter hechman found in the luxon area of the map during the FPE. Now generally when i'm running around with henchmen, i always bring at least one interupter spell with me in case we run into an annoying boss or spellcaster during the trip and no one else can stop them. however with the interupter ranger(especially with broad head arrow which causes the target to be dazed-easily interuptable) it almost doesn't seem necissary to have that interupter skill in my skill bar and to replace it with something else for variety
what are your thoughts fellow rangers?

While that is true, you will likely want to replace it with a good dmg skill since the interupter henchie will not likely cause much hurt to your enemies.

that is true, and that's what i did during the FPE, it was nice to be able to free up my interupter slot once and a while to up my dps without having to worry about my opponent's healing spell's going uninterupted

would u really trust a henchy with such an important role? And to raise a great point, the AI of henchman is primative. They attack what you attack..which isnt too bad...but when u need to interupt multiple targets...wtf will the interupters AI think of? id rather do the interupting myself. (an example of this may be that those summit elephant things [hmm...] and u gotta interupt 3-4 of there giant stomps...i usually press TAB to get closest 1 interupt and move to next 1...DO U HONESTLY THINK THAT PRIMITIVE AI WILL DO THAT FOR YOU!) although 1 use is against a monk boss...where u dont have to worry about it healing if ur attacking it...thx to henchman. anyways im still opposed to using and interupt henchy...other ppl may...its really where you stand in these arguments. You may agree or disagree with me, this is just my opinion. Peace!

Best thing about the AI interrupter is inhuman reflexes.

I didn't get to play alot during the FPE but, I was pretty dissapointed in the int hench. They did OK but, it seemed that they would use up all their ints just when we needed them. It was like they were trying to int everything that was cast and then when say an ele would cast meteor shower no int from the hench. I do agree it would be nice to not have to bring them but, until I can test the int hench a bit more I am keeping my 2 ints with me.

I don't rely on Henchies for much more than being convenient meat shields. I played the FPE extensively, and was no more impressed with the henchies there, than in Prophesies. The interupter Ranger was nice for the occasional interupt, but as was mentioned earlier in this thread, he is merely doing mindless interupting. So he isn't going to wait to interupt that big devastating spell, but merely try and interupt everything that is cast. After all we currently have healer henchies that run up and tank when they should be back healing. Nuff said.

I'd bring an interrupt anyway. Just like I'd still bring an interrupt if there was another ranger in the group. In a pinch, it pulls it's weight on the skill bar.

You obviously haven't played around the desert devourers for a while. They're disgusting.
The closest giant is not always the first one to finish stomping, just for a little brain food.

that's an interesting idea, definately another good way to test my interupt skills, which is good, cause they always have room to improve.

with tough areas, i'd bring an interupt anyways, just in case the interupt henchman dies, or as you say, i need to interupt more than one target at once. I guess you're always going to get better results with a well skilled and experienced human than a AI henchie, i really just like that they now have an interupter henchmen so that when i run around with henchies i get a little help on the interupt side of things and have the potential to move another one of my skills around.
now all they need is a beastmaster henchman and that would be sweet!!

What i meant was i press TAB to get closest 1 and keep hitting tab till i find 1 to interupt. sry i was specific. And whats wrong with desert devourers?...no i mainly farm FoW or ids runs with ranger ...havent seen devourers for a while.
EDIT: Yes Silas Verdeii you are right about getting help from a henchy. I mean in a team point of view, would your team rather have a interupt henchy, or stick around a bit and spam GLF INTERUPT RANGER! i would seriously prefer a skilled interupter over AI interupts any day of the week.
